Information on Alcaudete, Jaén - Spain
Alcaudete is a small typical Spanish village built around a Castle on a hill, with some 12,000 inhabitants. It is just inside the border in the Jaén region of Spain, and is within a 45 minute drive to both Jaén and Granada.
Alcaudete is a beautiful place to live, to visit and spend time to relax, and well positioned to explore other surrounding villages, and nearby towns and cities.
The village itself retains its ancient Spanish character, while the influx of foreigners buying into the area is generating more business and driving up the price of property.
The area is becoming popular for owning a second home to escape the busy cities and coasts in the summer.
The village is in the largest olive growing region in the world, which is the main industry in the village itself and most other villages surrounding Alcaudete. Olives and their oil are exported throughout Spain and many European countries.
